The Wicked Witch of the West
My muse this week is The Wicked Witch of the West.
I recently finished reading Gregory Maguire's novel "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West", a novel I've re-read a handful of times over the last 10 years.
I am always deeply drawn to characters who are misunderstood and this modern day fairytale is a welcome reminder that there are two sides to every story, and that things are rarely what they appear to be at first glance.

“One never learns how the witch became wicked, or whether that was the right choice for her~is it ever the right choice? Does the devil ever struggle to be good again, or if so is he not a devil?”
